I have been really struggling with my mental health during this quarantine and despite my best efforts, my anxiety is getting out of hand. The other day I started to have a panic attack while lying in the couch with my boyfriend. So there I am struggling to breathe feeling like I’m going to die and my boyfriends is searching for something under the blanket, he grabs my feet and starts gently stroking the bottom of it, like if he is tickling my foot. I have no idea what he is doing but admittedly it is distracting me... so when I have calmed down enough I asked what the fuck was that. He looked so proud when he said he had done his research and discovered that there is a tension point in your foot that can be used to calm down pain and tension... I didn’t have the heart to tell him you are supposed to press it not stoke it
parenting problems
I’ve heard “I hate you” from all 3 kids during this lockdown... I feed, clothe, wash, give emotional support, entertain and fully here for them. My dog, I give one boiled egg every morning and a walk..maybe 2 if the weather permits is the only loyal one at home. I feel Loved, from him. He has my back and I know it.
single struggles
The sensory deprivation as a single adult right now is real. I crave extremes now. My former boundaries are fuzzy. I’ve started waxing my armpits. A man I’m chatting to online asked me to f*ck his face at lunchtime and I thought it was cute. I feel like this is how an appetite for BDSM starts, but honestly I’m too midwestern to think about it.
long distance lovers
My girlfriend lives in a different city in a shared house. Doing distance we like to know exactly when we'll see each other again. I hadn't seen her for 40 days. With no end to this lockdown on the horizon, yesterday I drove 60 miles to see her. We went for a walk for hours, sat on a bench and ordered pizza on Uber Eats Not "essential travel" but I think it's probably saved our relationship

I have always been about the hand sanitizer & disinfectant wipes, but COVID has taken it to an entirely new level. My husband is so lack with the hand sanitizer. I insist that it must be used after touching anything in public- and I mean anything. Today, after leaving Costco & getting in the car, he grabbed his phone to check something before using hand sanitizer. Immediately, I demanded that he use the sanitizer and exclaimed that his phone most definitely has COVID on it now. His response: “You stress me out more an COVID.” I was immediately furious but then couldn’t stop laughing. We are on day 46.
must love dogs
When my Nan passed away she left me a small amount of inheritance and with that I bought a dog. Since lockdown I am the only one who exercises her and we have been running together every other day. Things I have learnt about my dog during lockdown. 1. She is ridiculously neurotic 2. She pees in exactly the same places on each run (there can be over 20 stops). 3. She is the best listener. I have also learnt that talking to your dog is fine, but imitating the voice of your dog talking back to you is perhaps not. At least this is what I am told by the look on other peoples faces.
f is for friends
My boyfriend and I escaped NY to stay with his family across the country in February. Four months later, it is our first time living together and our relationship grew to be better than ever. A week ago, we went to a family member’s house for a small birthday gathering. I offered to take the car to pick up extra drinks, then panicked as I realized I didn’t have the address to get back. I called his phone only to find it had been left in the car. Fortunately, I remembered his passcode; unfortunately, it led me to find deep emotional texts to another woman. Hearing about this, my best friend flew across the country and picked me up to drive back together. I have never felt more loved.
COVID down under
I’m in Australia. We did the right thing in our state and locked down for weeks and weeks. We closed bars and gyms and were told to stay in our suburb. Queensland currently has 1 active case (which was an international traveller who was tested in the mandatory 14 day hotel quarantine), 0 new active cases the last few days in a row, approx 1000 recovered cases, and 14 deaths. State wide.

I'm 32 and somehow never listened to Beyonce's music in my life..... until now! And oh my god she is motivating me to dance and sing and exercise during these lockdown days of mundane routine and feeling trapped inside. I'm obsessing over her songs and her life and her body. One day I was attempting to bravely (aka LOUDLY) sing "Love on Top" while doing dishes alone in my house. Suddenly my boyfriend was standing next to me with a sly grin on his face, having arrived home from work quietly, and he scared the shit out of me. I even blushed, which I never do, I was so embarrassed. I think my neighbors can all hear me singing too so now they act very awkward whenever I see them outside. Don't care! Love Beyonce <3 <3 <3

we’ve just lost the plot
My boyfriend and have argued about two things during lockdown. 1. Tinned mackerel, 2. Who’s towel goes where. They’ve been heated arguments, where one of us normally has to leave to go on a walk. We’re ok, we’ve just lost the plot.
100 days later
we’ve been in lockdown since early march. my relationship is solid but this is testing it to degrees i never thought possible! we only have a one bedroom!
daddy issues
After years of unsuccessful dating and watching friends meet guys, get married and have kids, I met a guy online. A tall Italian fireman now living in London, I won I thought. He was looking for someone to go to movies, shows and cook with; good conversations and great sex and if it turned into something more, excellent. Sounded perfect as that’s always how I approached my relationships. We talked for two weeks day and night, first on the dating app then graduating to WhatsApp where we could be a little more intimate. At the end of our rope we decided to meet for a walk in the park, of course agreeing not to touch each other and obeying the 2 meter social distancing rule that London had in place. On the sunniest of days and an hour before we were due to meet he told me he had something to tell me.
“What is it?” I asked.
“I just found out I am going be a father in seven months, are you ok with that?”

i’m starting the social distance project back up again. COVID-19 cases are spiking and we need to continue staying home. maybe this project will help people realize that. i’ll still be collecting donations and all money will be given to foundations and charities that benefit Black women. stay tuned for more confessions!

some days i cope
My husband and I are doing quarantine apart. I’m home alone. He works interstate at a mine in the desert in the middle of nowhere on a 3 week on, 1 week off roster. They closed the state borders after he went to work and if he comes home he will be out of a job. The camp can’t accommodate everyone permanently, so for his week off the company have flown him to the capital city to stay in a motel. He’s pretty shit at life so I had to put together a meal plan and shopping list for him for the week. Yesterday I got angry at him and hung up on him because he bought different frozen vegetables to the ones I had on his shopping list. Some days I cope. Some days I don’t. 😂
happy passover
My separated, soon-to-be ex-wife, and I still live together in NYC, and still co-parent our two children, one in HS and one in college. Both are quarantined with us. The plan to sell our place so we afford separate apartments. Mostly life is calm, but there are occasional moments that test my patience. Anyway, Passover comes around, and I decided at the last minute to make an entire dinner to make the day feel special. Even found a beautiful seder plate we got as a wedding gift and set the table with our rarely used china set. The seder was nice. The dinner was delicious. We "zoomed" with her relatives from out-of-state, and the whole thing was peaceful and meaningful. But at the end, after cleaning up and being thanked for doing all the prep work and cooking etc., she turns to me and says "I get the seder plate. And the china. The china is mine." I thought to myself, well happy Passover to you too.

I spent all the quarantine at my boyfriend's house. Last night we decided to play poker with 1,2 and 5 cents coins.The game became so intense, that we eventually started to get mad at each other. The mom was convinced that I had been cheating the whole time. So I am writing this message from my own apartment, because my boyfriend's parent's told me that "we don't let any poker cheaters sleep in this house…”
